The display gives guests the opportunity to 'walk' the beams, like the crews did while building the iconic building in the 1930's. Tap a small nail into the trim under the wall, at the point where you want the colors to change. With the projectors placed underneath the floor and off-axis, Image AnyPlace-200 provided the Geometry Correction and Edge Blending to keep the projectors out of view, while preserving the high image quality. A major challenge to the project was the need to place the projectors within a tight space, around ducts and the internal building system. The Beamwalk consists of projection with Christie LX-400 projectors onto a glass screen, requiring extreme off-axis projector placement to simulate the beam structures used to build the Rockefeller Center.

The goal of the project was to upgrade the existing display for improved and simplified operation, while producing high quality audio and video throughout the venue. The 'Top of the Rock' Beamwalk, located on the Observation Deck of the Rockefeller Center, provides guests the opportunity to 'experience' the construction process of the historical building.

The result is an AV design that hails compliments from all those who have viewed it, especially the young hospital patients and their families. The IA-200 was used to correct the short-throw distances of the projectors, as well as provide Edge Blending for all four of the projectors. The custom oval screen utilizes a custom mirror system, four projectors and four Image AnyPlace-200 video scalers. This was especially important considering the large screen is partially used to display the interactive games from the touch screen kiosks below. The main challenge in implementing the design was the short throw distance of the 7'2' x 9'5' oval, rear-projected screen. The Discovery Wall is the main attraction with a dynamic digital display of donor names on a large oval screen, accompanied by three interactive round touch screens. With a combination of both static and digtial displays, the space was intended to create a one of a kind user experience, while showcasing the many donors who have made the hospital a reality. The objective of the project was to create a fun and uplifting 'Lobby Experience' for patients, staff and visitors of the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital. The hanging banners have been delighting audiences since they were first launched at the 2010 Season Opener. All Image processing done in the IA-200 enabled the economic selection of projectors with the highest light output. IA-200вЂ™s distortion-free Scaling and Geometric Correction enable the precise alignment and blending of all 4 images with networked precision control. The top and bottom halves of the banners are seamlessly edge blended to provide a vertically oriented dynamic banner with transparency. In addition, the unconventional shape and size of the banners compounded with the requirement of illuminating them with pinpoint accuracy from projectors mounted off-axis at a distance of 30 meters, presented a major challenge in signal processing and control.Д®picвЂ™s solution was to use two stacked 4:3 projectors for each half of a hanging banner, each with an IA-200 Geometry Correcting and Edge Blending Scaler.

Expect to spendВ about 20 minutes per linear foot of wall on this project.One major challenge was to ensure the banners would be able to capture enough light for an outstanding projection effect, yet simultaneously sufficiently transparent to provide the audience with a view of the ice as players entered the arena.

Spacing the studs closely can give a smoother look to your finished wall.Д«efore you begin framing, make sure you know how to measure, use a plumb bob, and drive fasteners. The radius you choose determines the spacing of the studs.

One other key design consideration is the radius of the curve. Making plates from solid wood or laminated plywood is another option, but it can consume significant amounts of both materials and time. Making your own curved track from standard channel is a bit tedious but not especially difficult. The track shown is also available in a model that accommodates 2ењ† studs. A flexible metal track speeds and simplifies the construction of the wall whether you utilize metal or wood studs. When building one yourself, there are a few things to keep in mind. Either way, a curved wall will add interest and drama to any room. A curved wall can be a simple sweeping arc or an undulating wave that moves back and forth.
